Tragedy in London

Terrorists struck in London today. Information is still coming in but it appears that 4 bombs were blown up. Some in the subway, one at least on a bus. Thoughts and prayers go out to all of the dead, injured, and family of those who have experinced this tragedy.

In the coming days you will hear various predictable rationales given to explain these attacks. Some you might hear are because Blair is a Bush supporter. Or that it was because of their support of the Iraq war. Or the terrorists were trying to disrupt the G8 summit. Or any number of other near sighted explinations. But make no mistake this was not just an attack on Londoners this was terrorism, an attack on western civilization. We've been over this before, Islamofacists hate our way of life and want to destroy infidels(you, me, Londoners etc). This isn't a new concept, this has been happening for many many years. The first twin towers bombing, the bombing of the USS Cole, 9/11, the Madrid subway tunnels and once or twice a day in Iraq.

There are only two options to this kind of terror, one is to give in coughmadridcough, and the other is to defeat it. There is no negotiating option, there is no litigation option, there is no appeasment option, there is no law enforcement option of any kind as the late 80's and 90's have proven. Thankfully we have a President who has understood this from the beginning. And Britain seems to have an PM who understands this as well in Tony Blair:
"It is important, however, that those engaged in terrorism realise that our determination to defend our values and our way of life is greater than their determination to cause death and destruction to innocent people in a desire to impose extremism on the world. Whatever they do, it is our determination that they will never succeed in destroying what we hold dear in this country, and in other civilised nations throughout the world. Thank you."
Amen.
