Vandalism

Across the country there has been a rash of vandalism and thuggary against Republican headquarters.
In Orlando:
While in the building, some of the protestors drew horns and a mustache on a poster of President George W. Bush and poured piles of letters in the office, according to the report.

In Knoxville:
An unknown gunman fired several shots into the Bearden, Tenn., Bush-Cheney campaign office Tuesday, WBIR-TV in Knoxville reported.

And earlier this year in Huntington:
Twenty five people were inside facing the window, watching the speech on TV, when the shot was fire.

The bullet went over their heads.

And now it has hit home here in the NRV. Today in Radford a man was arrested for defacing public property. He was writing "Dump Bush" on trafic control boxes among other things.

Why do you think this is happening? Is it desparation? Is it zeal for the cause? Is it hate? My thought is that it's probably a combination of all these things. The people who hate Bush really really HATE him. I find it interesting that the people who teach tolerance in a religious manner cannot find anything in their hearts remotely resembling tolerance for our President.

Lileks has some observations on this as well. If you don't read his blog everyday you should. But beware it's addicting.
