SOTU

State Of The Union address was on Tuesday. I wasn't impressed. Too much pandering to causes and not enough war time leadership.

So of course this will probably be looked on as one of his best speeches, especially since many people don't even believe there is a war.

We saw a return of the compassionate conservatism. But somehow compassionate conservatims has turned in to big government mommy-state policies.

I do think I like his health care initiative. Injecting the free market in to to the process could be a good thing. Here's hoping.

The  This is not the fight we entered in Iraq, but it is the fight we're in. Every one of us wishes this war were over and won. Yet it would not be like us to leave our promises unkept, our friends abandoned, and our own security at risk. (Applause.) Ladies and gentlemen: On this day, at this hour, it is still within our power to shape the outcome of this battle. Let us find our resolve, and turn events toward victory.

The second half of the speech was about the war. It should have been the first half. He says lots of good things, such as:

This is not the fight we entered in Iraq, but it is the fight we're in.
